Chicago Gear Works, our goal is to produce top—quality

Company
History
Chicago
Gear Works was founded by J. J. Quinn as the Chicago Stock Gear
Works, operating out of a modest 600 square foot facility on
Wells Street. In 1908, the company was renamed Chicago Gear
Works, which truly reflects our status as custom gear specialists.
Like the city that is our namesake, we have always been characterized
by solid, progressive growth.
Since
1907, the company has continued to evolve to meet tomorrow's
challenges head on, exploring all possible avenues to provide
our customers with superior gears at competitive prices.
Production
Our computerized
operation features state-of-the-art, CNC equipment, such as
Koepfer and Mitsubishi gear hobbing machines and a new Mitsubishi
grinder. We can handle every step of manufacturing except heat
treating and plating under one roof. We maintain an extensive
inventory of cutting tools at all times. Our secondary operations
include drilling, tapping, honing, milling and broaching, as
well as OD, ID, surface and thread grinding.
Cellular
Processing
Through cellular
processing, we have fine tuned our production procedures, cutting
our lead times in half over the last three years to become an
industry leader in lead time performance. Consolidating departments
and functions through multiple task responsibilities among our
staff has also led to improvements in the quality of our product.

Quality Management
All of our products
are of the highest manufactured quality, a result of continuous
inspection from raw materials through production. Our "Total
Quality Management" Program, based on ISO 9000 standards,
has resulted in in outstanding track record of customer satisfaction.
As a member of AGMA, the American Gear Manufacturers Association,
Chicago Gear Works is committed to excellence and subscribes
to numerous industry standards and codes to ensure that excellence.
